Well, since you asked... I love it.

The '50 Dodge is my favorite, styling wise, of the '49 to '52 MoPars, and the business coupes are my second favorite body style after the four-door sedans.

Nice paint, quite an eye catcher. It's your car put what you want in it. I guess I'll forgive the Cheby, since your plymouth didn't come with a hemi. Joke.

    Nice looking car!

I won't personally advocate using a 350/350, but in the fifties cars it doesn't bother me as much because the hoods stay closed. Its more important that you have it out on the road and are enjoying it!

Now, if you were going to run an open engine compartment....

So this past weekend a couple friends picked up this old treasure! To bad she is to far gone to save. The person where it came from was keeping it in his sheep and chicken pen........

thanks, appreciate the kind words, and you are right, it didnt come with a hemi, or any motor at that, so to fit with the money i had to get this bad boy on the road, in went the motor i did have, a chevy. I do appreciate not getting flamed though, thanks.

you are very correct, it is on the road and I'm driving it, and thats the best part to me, its not original- ok, it doesnt belong- fine, am I driving it- YES. it really is a great car, and thanks for the kind words, appreciate it!

Your friend is a very lucky guy as i am, it really is an awesome car to drive, this badboy has taken me many places and has not let me down,

i didn't know there were so many plymouths' out, many many great looking cars, glad to own one.

  14. Here is my 1951 Plymouth with Desoto Badges and grill. It's from The Big Island of Hawaii. They call it a Hilo Sampan bus. One of 12. I'm hopping up the flathead with Earl Edgy Head and cam, Headers, electronic ignition 12 volt alt. I don't know what carburators I'm going to use. Two 94 or 97? May two Holly webbers? It has a over drive in it. It cruises real nice.

  20. That 5 speed ting sounds good. Is there any adapters for flathead 6 to T5 geraboxes or TH 700 automatics? Dont think the fluiddrive is the optimal thing for my ride.

  21. i just updated my build thread with a teaser the interior.

I can't help with the gm stuff but if you can use a Mopar box, 5-6 speed or Torqueflight, let me know.

Wilcap does adapters to go from the MoPar flatheads to both a Chevrolet-pattern automatic and stick.

Here's my Grandfather's Dodge Truck. He bought it new in 1950. He bought and used it as a farm truck. My grandparents lived in Sunnymead, Ca. (now Moreno Valley), they farmed 40 acres in the 50's into the 60's. The truck was only used on the farm, and occasional trips to town, but never more than 50 miles from home. I live less than 20 miles from where their farm was, so it's still within 50 miles of the farm.. It was repainted while my mother owned it, in the 90's, and is 100% original, including the "cardboard" interior panels. It runs ok, but needs fuel system work.
