Well about 2 weeks ago I took on this job of getting this 49 Ford F1 on the road. After 2 more weeks of begging and pleading with the guy about a dropped axle he was bound and determined to take the straight axle out and replace with a Heidts IFS. So with Electricity going up and gas steadily rising I decided to give in. Plus it lets me get another f1 steering column and some more front brakes. To add to the mix he wanted to use the 351 cleveland that came with it also. After searching a few vendors an unable to come up with a rear sump pan for the cleveland I had to raise the motor up to clear the steering rack. After being pissed about the Coupe I got down and dirty on the truck this past weekend and got some work done.

The motor mount out of 1/4 plate. It never fails when you need store bought stuff they just dont make it. Still got to add the gussets to the front side

Looking good. For the oil pan a dual sump pan to swap a Cleveland into a fox chassis Mustang would of worked.

Summit racing sells them. Moroso and Milodon make them but neither are cheap(right around $300 with pick up tube ). Moroso part # is: MOR-20530, Milodon is: MIL-31127.

    Canton also makes them. http://www.cantonracingproducts.com/pans/road_race/ford_rear_sump.html

Another choice would be a 351M or 400 4x4 oil pan out of a 70's 4x4 truck. You should be able to find one of them for about half the cost of the aftermarket ones.
