Dave Dolman from Verdon Nebraska. It`s a 55 ford station wagon roof with 52 Merc tail lights. Owner built(close to 15 years ago) and never trailered. .
Thanks for the info, I admire men that can build something that Kool ! and happy to hear he enjoys the car
Probably just a typo on Jim's(Stanlow69) part, but the roof is 1957 Ford wagon. ('55 and 56 were like a REALLY good BBQ shack, No Ribs, 'cuz they sold out) The rear lift gate and rear side glass and surrounding metal are 55/56 Ford Ranch Wagon, heavily modified.
I'm not sure on the exact year but I thought the top is off of a 50's Ford wagon. It is something to see in person. She is one of my favorite Mercs.
He told me at the KKOA show this year he used the sides and back from a 55 wagon and roof skin from a 57-58 wagon, super nice car and owner
Since I got part of that right, here are some pic`s I took more than 10 years ago. I included his Merc on my list of top ten Merc`s on a thread Micky(straykatkustoms )started on here.
Great example of a car that runs side mirrors on both sides but still looks very clean. Also not-frenched headlights and still pulls off the smooth look.
It was kool to read the article in Rodder's Journal about all of the kustom work done to the Merc. Rear quarters are my favorite mod.
The grille shell is certainly tweaked, and that signature grille is flawless! Do you know what side trim was used? Absolutely perfect, for such an understated build.
And that heavily peaked hood retains its corners. This is certainly not a paint within the lines custom!
