I wound up getting a 48 Lincoln sedan in trade, the car is complete and has a 12 cylinder engine and standard transmission. question is there and demand for the v12 engines, I don't know yet if it is turns free.

Heard they are boat anchors, but they look cool as hell. Don't know if that is urban legend or not...

    Hey,

What kinda shape is the Lincoln sedan in? It would be tough to get your money back if you were thinkin motor swap/driver outa a '48. There's a sedan with a motor swap on ebay, but I doubt it will bring reserve.

Engines are great, but VERY expensive to rebuild.

shucks...you could stuff that engine in a Model A, and write a song about it.

  7. If you correct the mistakes of breathing that were the demise of most of the running ones in the day, you can have a great, smooth motor. The transmission, gears, overdrive, are hotrod material. Continental and convertible coupe are the only ones that are worth restoring, in my opinion.

I sold three 1947 Lincolns with V12s last years. So yes, people do want them. As far as the engines, I had several people that wanted just the engines.

They're great motors but as stated expensive to rebuild and after market parts cost an arm and a leg. I've sold a few.

The Lincoln V12 is a decent motor, the most money you will ever spend to get to 250 Hp, but they look and sound cool as hell all dressed up.
