Mo.... every picture you posted is a stunning car but I totally disagree with you about the stainless, but who am I to say. Thanks for posting such great chevys.
I agree with Jeff. Those cars are all gorgeous, but would still benefit from the stainless trim areound the windshield, to take them to the next level. I REALLY like the Fabian Chevy.. it just looks so 'right'.. except for the lack of windshield trim...
Thanks. I dont really have any other ideas right now, maybe some stainless around the windshield.........
Haha! Looks like a nice start, now hurry up with the stainless already. Ok, back in my hole... More 48-52 style new builds please!
I don't see anything from another car on this one, and as the car look like a 51 it would be pretty easy to say it fit, but it don't : wrong wheels ! spyder caps don't fit the area sorry
Thanks. Looking forward to get it on the road and soon start to do some modifications. Yes, I know. I understand you have a 1940 LaSalle convert too. Is it a series 52 or 50?
Mine is a 52 series, same as yours.. sounds like we will be going in the same general direction in the late 40s- early 50s style
To me, lack of window stainless doesnt effect the car being appropriate for this thread or not. The maroon Chevy is a nice car, very conservative but very nice. I love stainless around windshields. Heres a question, How would you guys like Louie Bettancourts merc with complete stainless around the side windows? No good, right? LOL
I think as we are current day looking back at the cars, we naturally have a vision for what we think the perfect cars would look like, and they would run all the stainless around the glass. But when we look at the old pictures a number of those cars never ran all the stainless and who know might have been a statement or just simply lack of funds or it wasn't a priority. Love this thread!
A photograph is just a fraction of a second in time. Let's say a photo gets taken before the stainless gets re-installed, it gets posted on here, and it suddenly becomes "accurate". We will never know if the stainless got re-installed (or not) the very next day. That's why basing historical accuracy upon a single photograph sometimes is just asking for trouble....
After reading this thread more And more I don't want to put mine on just so people who didn't build my car can bitch.
bigdaddyslip: As you know, I have always loved your Chevy. It can only be enhanced with stainless. but I think your car pulls off not having the stainless pretty well. Most other cars though, just look unfinished without it. I dont know why, but your car just slips past my obsession with windshield stainless
Very well put - my car wears flip flops during the week, I'm looking for some 16's so she can wear stilettos at the weekend!
wow that one's low! Couldn't have have much of a turning radius... beautiful though. Lets see some more 1948-52 NEW OLD STYLE KUSTOMS!!!!
