1947 olds grille?

    Im thinking of using one on my car, but before i drop some change, can anybody give the measurements of one? Height, width of top and width of bottom..

    54.3" (1380mm) wide (Outside tips lower bar) x 12.9" (330mm) tall (Bottom of lower bar to top of upper bar)

    You're right, that does make it look smoother!

    I really want one of these grilles, and they seem to be almost the perfect size

    '46-'47 had the blocks between the bars, '48's didn't.

    Yep, exactly. Mines a '47 and I took mine out. Denny Leske from the Ionia Hot Rod Shop welded the holes in the pot metal pieces and Advanced Plating in Nashville then replated the grill for me. I couldn't be happier with the look. REALLY makes the front end flow.....nothing breaking up the lines. Worth the time, effort and money.

    Anybody know how hard it would be to fit a 47 olds grill in a 48 chevy?

    How well did it fit in your 46? I am thinking the same thing for my 48.

    :)I like those bumper guards with the turn signals wish I found a set for my Chevy.

    Well, it definitely isn't the stock one! Don't know if it's aftermarket, though. Could be a custom made one. Maybe she will chime in and tell you where it came from.

    ironically i didnt like them when I did my car the first time around.. but.. they are in fact stock..
