We're trying to cure this sag problem on our Biff convertible.
We've noticed this lever in the second photo with a hole in it. Should there be a spring somewhere here? 20180808_155840.jpeg 20180808_155856.jpeg

That car will never be the same after it was filled with manure. Surprised that's the only sag it has.

    I hate manure.

  5. My 41 convertible had springs that attached to the top mechanism and went strait back into the trunk area and attached to (if I remember) the brace from the quarter down to the inner wheel well. It would help the top go back up, being spring loaded. Just like a hood hinge or trunk lid hinge spring. 41's are a little different then 42-48...mainly being 41 had an electric motor top and 42-48 are hydraulic. So your mileage may vary

The reference is from a movie call back to the future (1985). Biff pictured below is the local school bully whom gets dumped on indirectly buy Micheal J fox. I would think you have to be living in a fallout shelter or unborn in 1985- 95 to miss this series of movies.

I can see the ad now. "Wanted '46 to '48 Convertible to be used in a major motion picture staring Michael J. Fox". I hope it only took one shot to do the scene. The guy in the back seat looks like he is having a great time!

Thanks 39 Guy not a movie fan just a artist the wife asks me all the time to watch movies and sometimes I will even do just that but its rare. For what its worth I have heard of this movie but never saw or made the connection and yeah wouldn't just be a crappy day but it sounds as if it he had it coming to him...what goes around comes around.

Anybody got a picture of the spring on a 42-48 convertible?
