White walls are such a pain in the ass......I used to wash them every weekend. However I do live in and around a rain forest on a tropical isle. I admit the last time I washed them before you got it was a bit longer.....they still look fantastic for being 4 years old! I looked, I got them in August of 08.

Anywhoo, on with the show. Where's the popcorn...?

I looked thru the post, but didnt see the breakdown of the suspension mods. Did I miss it or can you share? Its a perfect height, and one i would like to replicate on my '41 chevy tudor.

Made some progress filling holes today.... tons of fun!

Don't be too hard on my welding, I'm a beginner. Please tell me if I'm doing something wrong.

I'm sorry but this wont be one of those metal finished dream machine builds.. just a 18 year old who just graduated High School trying to build a cool custom before he moves out and is pounded by the real world

Looks great, but cover your windows when welding those trim holes.Welding and grinding sparks are no good for the glass.

    Thanks!
I actually had the windows rolled down while I was working on the car, but they still got a few marks on them. I appreciate the advice.

    Looks good so far!

Looks like we'll have to be rivals until we both find our Appletons!

  14. You guys need to keep an eye on the Classifieds. Not sure how long you have both been looking but about 4-5 months ago a guys sold 5-6 individual 112's one after another so they are definitley still out there.

    Nice work on the car.

Just personal opinion, of course, but I really like it without the skirts---

I actually kind of like it without the skirts too, but not as much as I do with the skirts!

Luckily, the new skirts I'm getting (hopefully today) clip on the right way, so I can take them off without having holes in the fender.

Today will just be another day of welding up trim holes :)

Amazing the amount of holes? Skirts really make the car.

Well here's take two on this post, I was almost done and my computer crashed... so here we go again!

Finished the passenger side window trim holes...

Also got the skirts today and painted them to match for now.. They needed a little tweaking to really fit tight against the fender but they're good quality.

Sorry for the bad pictures, I'll post better ones tomorrow.

Thanks to Jason Bickford, I got this nice original 49 Chevy overrider!

I also have these hubcaps for it.. I dig 'em.

I am going to re-mount the Kustoms plaque, it looks too low...

I also made this little panel under the dash for the heater control knobs, the knobs are off of a 50's guitar. :D

  21. Looks good. A little constructive criticism. It looks like you might be taking a bit too much off when you grind down your welds. Looks like you might be using a cut off wheel to knock them down? If so leave then a little proud of the metal then take them down with a angle grinder and a flap wheel so the become flush with the surrounding metal.

Thanks for the advice. I am using a flap wheel, the reason they look so indented is because the layers paint and primer is pretty thick right there. At the same time, I might be grinding off a bit too much, so its enhanced

  23. Lol well the only way you learn is by trying and in the end it is only metal. You might want to grind a slightly larger area so you can get the wheel a little flatter rather than using the edge.

    Thanks!
I will post some better pictures of the car outside tomorrow, the skirts really look that best when you can see the entire flow of the car. They mimick the slope of the roof.

Hopefully the trim willl get here soon as well!

If anybody knows of any 42-48 chevy rocker trim for sale, let me know!
