Anybody know the history of this ride? Its currently in MA and the owner purchased it from New Mexico. That owner was able to provide that this 39 raced in the lower states Texas and Louisiana. It had green flake seen on spots around the fenders and doors so had to be painted that in entirety at the time. Thats all the history known so far.... Thanks!!! - TWiG
DND that is a current image and its running. Sounds like it was in storage for several decades and had the driveline plus motor revamped with a crate 350.
In the 60 years I've lived in New Mexico I've never saw that car. I have an extensive photo collection of races/race cars from our local track (Albuquerque) dating back to late 50's so I don't believe it was raced here.
yeah it used to be a emerald type green with alot of flake in it.... most of its peeled off and you are seeing what was under it.
Based on how distinctive the color was I am sure someone knows the history of this cool looking gasser. Jimbo
I thought I would not see it again! people here in New Mexico have never seen it, But I have found most to be unfriendly anyway. Glad to see you left it as is!
Lars, as I mentioned to you earlier, I about fell over seeing that inside the enclosed carrier when the driver allowed me a look. We were unloading a Mo Par he brought me and asked " You want to see something neat? I said "Sure, show me" It looked so back in the day - high school to me. Love it! Can you shoot an interior photo of the Roll Bar. If it is real, it will have one or evidence there of. The front axle is not vintage at all...Speedway.
