Sorry, I know this could fit in the links page but it's too cool and I have to share. This Zephyr has been garaged since 55. I called the guy and it's way above my pay grade. Hopefully this gets picked up by a HAMBer.
    The link is below.

what kind of idiot sells a car like that covered in an inch of dirt? spend a weekend polishing it up and taking it out of that place for some proper photos.

It's located in Modesto. He said he had an offer of $75,000 and its on eBay at 43,000. Too much for me, but maybe if we all pooled our money...

Yep, currently on E-Pay # 221899077185. Current bid only $43,600 (Reserve not met). Parked in 1955 and definitely above my pay grade as well! Awesome what appears to be complete. Where would you find ll those hard to get parts!

Interesting to hear he's currently asking $75k on CL. Earlier this week (Sunday)he was asking $50k right here on the H.A.M.B. (His only post) & claiming he had a best offer of $45k. Then he deleted the info on the posting...

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...cant-figure-out-how-to-cancel-this-ad.992643/

Now it's up for auction & he's a member since September 27th (again Sunday) with zero feedback?

Makes me wonder if it's a scam...

Hopefully not, and someone out there gets it and doesn't destroy the car with bad modifications.

I came from Modesto , 25 years ago , but I never knew of that car. I also saw it here at 50000. He gave a name but I didn't recognize it. My wife said he will never get that much , I think he will.

  16. Maybe he could package up the dirt in small containers and sell it since it's 1955 dirt that's been touching a 1937 Zephyr.:D;)

Very cool car and great pictures, but shitty way to sell. Make offer = sucker fishing. Seems like there's always another guy with a standing offer of $X when a bullshitter is selling something. Roll it outside, wash the shit off of it, and pick a number. Kind of a shame when cool stuff falls into the hands of guys like that.

I would bet it is a guy who did not know the value and wants top dollar. nothing wrong with that. I've been a car nut a long time and had no idea one of these would be worth $75,000.00 unrestored

He needs to call Gas Monkey Garage! Richard would try to talk him down, or mabe his buddy Dennis would just throw him whatever price he wanted. Then Aaron could butcher it up & they would sell it for a bazillion bucks.

Modesto..maybe Milner knew about it? Think it had a fan shroud?..

""what kind of idiot sells a car like that covered in an inch of dirt? spend a weekend polishing it up and taking it out of that place for some proper photos.""

The kind that's to cheap to hunt up a set of wheels to move the thing out? Doesn't seem legit to me..I'd want to kick the tires..

I believe it's real , there are a lot of chicken ranch buildings there. That's what the building looks like. He also had it on Modesto cr at make offer and gave his name but I didn't recognize it.

  26. Well crap. I had one of those grille badges. I figured it was junk because it was in rough shape. I think I sold it for a whole dollar.

He listed it here on the hamb under the name Gerald Ford. Maybe Ronald Reagan called him and told him 50 grand was too cheap.

There was a Zephyr in a salvage yard near Eldorado Springs Missouri a few years back. Pretty much ALL gone but some severely mangled body pieces. The yard crushed out about 5 or so years ago.
