I "almost" made a deal on this "42 Willys sedan. Both me & the seller (who is now one of my hot rod buddies) were both hoping I could sell off another project I was trying to sell at the time.

After getting "stiffed" a couple of times from would-be RacingJunk.com buyers I had to eventually "move on" and gave up my hope of owing this "Willys" (even though it was not the coupe of my dreams).

Eventually, the "even-up trade" for the Opel (for my hot rod El Camino) came along and the Willys eventually sold to another buyer. (in Ohio?)

    Correct me IF I am WRONG..... !!!! ???? !!!!

I understand from the previous owner this is the same Willys sedan I was looking to BUY.....

The same Willys sedan that I was going to "gasser-ize".....

This was MY VISION for the sedan.....

Still hoping to get that "Willys of my Dreams"..... SOMEDAY!!!! .......Especially after seeing Kiwi Kev's "Nasty Habit"!!!!!!

Anyone remember the Willys at New England Dragway back in the 60's-70's named Hot Chestnuts? It had the name Headhunters on the hood. When I saw it up there, it was yellow. It was owned by some black guys from Boston.Someone said it was always on a trailer at a gas station on Tremont St. or Columbus Ave. I last heard aguy in Brockton bought it, but that was some time ago. Thanks for any info or pics.

I bought this truck in '93 finished it in '95, then drove the wheels off it til 2000 when I sold it in Kalamazoo to fund my '32 5 window. I seen it there a year later then it disapeared. The last year or so I have been doing google searches to see if I could find a pic of it somewhere as well as watching this thread. Tonight I added the VIN to the search (I memorized it) and had a hit from an Silver Auction in Reno in 2007. Not much has been changed on it, They raised the front a couple inches and the rear looks like it was lowered some. Pretty exciting to see it again-even if the auction was 5 years ago.

Very nice turnout Willys' at the Meltdown.

We are looking forward to going to the "Gasser Nationals" @ Thompson September 7-8.

Every time we attend a vintage-nostalgia gasser event we less & less feel like going to the regular events at our local drag strip.
