still my all time favorite car.
Found the pics when SWC Willys was here at my house.
Here are some of the pics I took of SWC at the Meltdown Drags in Byron, Illinois this past year.
Great postings. Here we are at the GNRS last week. Love my 40!!!
That's Larry Hook doing the lettering.
great SWC pictures guys!! thanks for sharing them!
A few more from Indy 2012.
More of the early version. It was originally Stone-Woods-Pittman. K.S. Pittman was the driver before Doug Cook. Most folks are not aware of that. Another piece of trivia....K.S. Pittman won the Inaugural NHRA Winternationals in 1961 in the Pittman-Edwards C/GS Willys and also won B/GS in the Stone-Woods-Pittman Willys. They make a big deal out of a "double" these days.
See the lettering on the hood.
These are some of the best pictures i've seen of that version. I've got 2 or 3 pictures of it like that...Probably one of my favorite versions.
Oldracer is just a wealth of information
Thanks Dave, I sometimes forget K.S. Pitman was the original driver. K.S. was a legend as was/are all the S&S guys! I am also very proud to say your Willys visited my garage along with Vic Youngs "Bad News" Willys. All of you guys are my hero's!
Too damn cool.
I'm proud my Willys visited your garage too!! It got to sit real close to that pretty Black one!! I was hoping some of the "pretty" would rub off on my old clunker LOL. Thanks for the kind words...DH

Great picture of one of the Legends of the gasser wars.
Cool pic of Mazmanians car. Never realized Huge Tucker drove it also. Am I correct to think he was the man with the Chevy roadster gas class car?I think it was silver.
You are correct.
