Ford pickups....32 to 34 are similar, so are 35 and 36, 38 and 39, 40 and 41, but the 37 kinda stands alone. I recently acquired this 37. It's a beater 20170313_142305 (2).jpg 20170313_142356 (2).jpg that has juice brakes and 12 volt, otherwise pretty stock. Who else has one of these one year wonders?

Well... I'm told my bus is a 37. Still have to drag it home as well as find the front sheetmetal from a 1 1/2 ton truck. Mine was cut off and pintle hitched years ago.

This is my beater, brakes were changed to hydrolic but it is still a 6 volt. Flathead runs awesome, putting in some better windows and it will be ready for the road.

I love these also, and found this in my hometown from an ad in Hemming's. This guy's uncle owned it for 40 years, and willed it to him when he died. He was not an old car guy, and sold it when his kids started college. No rust / accidents ever. Juice brakes, 12V, dual exhaust, 2 97's, old looking radial tires. Take it to the dump, and Home Depot all the time, and you have to add 1/2 hour to every trip, just to answer all the questions. image.jpeg

Here is my 37 I inherited from my dad 3 years ago. Basically stock when I got it. Converted it to 12V, added 40 Ford brakes, and dual exhaust. 20140805_135232.jpg

Shortly later I had the door painted. I have had a lot of old fords, but this 37 gets more attention than anything else.

Have 35mm slides of a 37 V8 60 pickup I did many years ago that I'll try to find. Unusual in that it had the Deluxe cab with the 60 hp engine. About the only other thing I remember is that the block had steel water jacket side plates welded on to the cast middle section and the weld beads were perfect. Always wondered how they did this 80 years ago.

Great to see another beater. Mine looks better in pictures than it is. Maybe I'll take some closer pics that show the "beater" status.

Does anyone know if they made something like a heavier duty truck in 37? Mine has 85 in the emblems on the side that I think means 85 horse but it also has a extra helper spring in the rear. I will try to get a pic of it today if I can.
Also all my fenders have big ugly welds where they have cracked and been repaired long ago, I think it looks pretty cool. At some point my plan is to buy a nice new chassis and put the body on that just how it looks now. Not sure if I will ever get to it though so I will enjoy it as is.

Haven't seen close pins on a fuel line in years. My grandfather use to do the same. He said the moisture build up would go to the close pin instead of the fuel.

No map light, but a cool vacuum fan mounted on the steering column that couldn't blow a gnat off your nose.
