Patina Perfect 1936 Ford Club Cabriolet SOLD

The buyer of this car will not only get a real bargain, but also a top quality ride that will always draw the eye of those who appreciate the preservation of genuine Fords and the patina of a car that has seen a few things. If you are into nostalgic hot rods, this is your Huckleberry.

This genuine Model 68 Ford Club Cabriolet is a dream find for the buyer who wants the nostalgic look of a car that comes with a past, but at the same time is a great driving, safe, dependable street rod as well. It has all the right stuff tucked away under the hood and under the car, and this Blue Oval droptop has the right attitude for a car of its type. For the sake of naming a color, let’s call it… Huckleberry. The all steel body and fenders are original Henry Ford steel painted in a purple-ish blue with a flattener to nullify the shine. The effect is kustom kool. Inside, the dashboard has a high gloss shine, and the entire high-dollar aftermarket chassis underneath gleams in the same color. Ghost flames on the front fenders, gobs of pinstriped detailing, hood louvers, extruded aluminum Plymouth bumpers, and the authentic vintage presentation of a car that is proud to show off its 85 year old body is evident. There is not a visible dent anywhere on the car, but in a few spots, the paint is peeling off. These blemishes are kinda like the tiny little beauty marks that make a stunning woman even more alluring.

The dashboard is full of Hanline white faced gauges, an Ididit tilt steering column and banjo steering wheel handle the maneuvering, and air conditioning keeps passengers nice and cool. The vehicle features a split Glide seat with center armrests, handle actuated power windows, and is nicely upholstered in a two tone gray tuck ‘n’ roll motif. Though there is plenty of room for a back seat, it doesn’t have one, and since this is a late issue car, it has a full trunk, not a rumble seat. In other words, this is the perfect road car since you can carry enough luggage for weeks of touring. The retractable, black, StaFast top is nearly new and does not have any rips or flaws. The glass is excellent throughout, and the carpet shows no wear.

The timeless droptop hotrod is powered by an equally timeless and reliable 350 CID Bowtie engine that produces about 300 horsepower. A TH350 automatic transmission gets the gear shifting done and the rear differential is a 9” Ford. The Ford is easy to drive with independent suspension, rack and pinion steering, power disk brakes forward and drums aft. Wide white sidewall tires wrap around chrome rims with Mercury style center caps. The tires are, like the car, well aged and should be replaced before putting this rod out on the highway. This is a stand up car that will do get you there without unscheduled stops at the side of the road.

This Ford Club Cabriolet is offered at a price tens of thousands below others of the same year, make and model. It is what it is and comes with no apologies. Keep it like it is, or put a shiny paint job on it. Except for the aforementioned tires, it doesn’t need anything. A great number of people who have seen it say it is perfect like it is. One thing is certain – it will get more attention like it is than finished as some kind of trophy magnet. Compare it with any other 36 cabrio on the market, then decide. Is this your Huckleberry?

If this 1936 Ford isn't for you, we also have a bright shiny red Cabriolet and a great 3 Window Coupe. Don't be bashful. Call 702-592-660 or email and get all the details.
