To make things clear we did not do most of this 35 Ply. It was recently bought on an e-bay deal as a finished driver but the car was not close to the quality or finish the buyer was led to belive but that another whole story in itself. The buyer now owner really liked the blue / purple satin color he saw on line but it's one of those colors that photograph well and look crappy in real life. Just to give a quick what we did. We had to completely redo the front & rear suspension as it was not safe to drive so we added air suspension while we where under it. The body work and fit must of been done by a blind man how had stocks in body fillers and no real skills or just did not care. After numerous hours of redoing most of the body mods by adding or changing them we now have it real close for paint. The owner still likes the satin burple but we do not. He has his heart set on a satin color but will consider a different color. The carson top and interior are off white and we think this Roth style Ply would look better in dark putter that has a slight teal tint to it. Whats your take on the color ?????? My opinion is if the owner is paying you to do the work for him, he should get what he wants. After all, it's his car.
You are 100% correct but he is paying me to correct his car and if i did not suggest something that I thought would improve his car i would not be doing him a good job. He is open to what other think so if you have an opion on color it would be nice to hear. The Erickson's / Extreme Kustoms 951 678-3520
Something classy like a champagne colored metallic. 1990's Ford Taurus had a really pretty one with a hint of copper.
Thanks white05GT. Any one ells have an opion on the color ?????? The Erickson's / Extreme Kustoms 951 678-3520
My first "rod" was a 35 Mayflower. It was a nice shiny factory gary/green that looked good on the old girl. Using these modern day paints, this car would look great, (IMO) Oh, and tell him the headlights need to be raised, (again IMO)
I liked this deep Gray color on this Packard I saw at Goodguys Colorado. Or this Copper colored Roadster
i think the car needs a dark deep kandy, a dark blue or maroon. that would definitely give it some class!!!
Emerald green is one of my favorite colors but it needs to be in a high gloss. My fathers old 51 merc vertt is the fairly famous Emerald Sled The Erickson's / Extreme Kustoms 951 678-3520
Yes a firemist copper satin would look sick and even highlight most of the body mods but we have done to many in that color so he's wanting something different but the pinup will work with any color The Erickson's / Extreme Kustoms 951 678-3520
why not throw a few good photos on the photoshop thread and see if anyone of the regulars on there can help? Theres some very talented guys doing great work there... just my .02
Well the customer is always right . It's all Burpple pearl now. The Erickson's / Extreme Kustoms 951 678-3520
Close to taking it for a shake down cruise . Still need to finish up a few small items like install the way kustom exhaust tips and side morrors. The Erickson's / Extreme Kustoms 951 678-3520
The previous builder may have been a terrible body man, but the styling was spot on. Really like the look, glad you could get it straightened out for him.
