I made a photo sculpture (life size) of Tom's car in 2004, here it is at the Petersen Museum during "Deuce Week" 75th anniversary of the '32......Tom's roadster is already a classic
My Grandfather purchased this one in October of 1953. Been in our family ever since. Formally owned and raced by Dick Kraft. Photo of my Aunt with a childhood friend (she is now a retired school teacher) Photos circa 1967... Photo of my Late Father (at age 12) with my late Granfather. Taken by our local newspaper as part of a feature article of my Grandfathers success at the 1956 and 1957 World Series of Drag Racing. (More info on Dragster at can be found by clicking on the link in my signature section) Recent photo I had taken. Note SCTA Tag from El Mirage - Oct 1948. Photo taken and posted from 2008 James Dean Run with the DB radials installed. More info and history contained in entry #21 of this thread. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...25&highlight=dick+kraft+32+roadster&showall=1
yep....so much fun (being my first hotrod) that there seems to be little time for doing any more body work this year....maybe this winter it will get a nice massage....to many oil leaks to fix, points to file and brakes to adjust right now! next year it should be wearing black primer, black wheels and grill, 39 tranny gears, true prewar style carb stacks, and a fan blade on that v8 water pump! maybe even a usable top!
Steves32 ... that's the strangest looking 1932 Ford Roadster I've ever seen ... almost looks like a Deuce 3wd Coupe
People who make the comment, "Belly Button Deuce Roadster" need to take a look through this thread. Many different views as well as many different ways to do it. The best view of all methinks....
speaking of looking through.....that's the best angle of any old car...looking through the windshield!
Hi , are the seams on an original Roadster body at the lower body edge , i mean cowl to door and door to rear quater welded together or not. On my Brookville body they are looking like on piece, so welded together. TIA Michael
Never saved so many pictures from one thread...excellent, guys. And a special thanks to you, DreddyBear, for starting a thread that I stayed up way too late viewing!!! (Good thing I saw it on a Saturday!) Seriously, every one of these roadsters really does somethin' for me...but this one does something to me. A vintage shot, my favorite to date. Flathead Caddy mill. Is that a S.C.O.T. blower? And what is that tank strapped to the battery box?...oil? - Rick
Heres a couple of mine................ The number five car was sold a couple years ago, but Swanders is building another roadster and has a couple killer 5 windows.... Thanks RP
I rebuilt it and drove it back to LA the next year and sold it to a guy in Texas who changed the whole look. It was a Great car!!!! John
