Well i'm at it again, winter boardem has set in. I built the 3w coupe from a pu cab and now for a new challenge. I thought a 32 body tub would be cool and about a simple car as you can get.
Started with a frame profile fixture i built from frame specs off the net. I know guy's with glass and steel cars so i bug them when i go over and take pictures and paper templets.
I will create all panels from flat stock and only buy the door hinges...maybe. I hope to do the body build for $1000 bucks.
I have enough cars/trucks so i will not make this a finished driver. Just do the body and move on. ( I'm a Mopar guy) It will not look like a stock Ford body in every detail because some things i'm not set up to do. It will not look like a glass car either. It will have lips and edges like steel does.
I will build all the panels for a full mock up and then go back and take the fixtures/jig out . One reason for doing a ford is i know i can sell it when done.
I hope to make 25 cents a hour and ramp up my skills. Ray in OR

I'm going with 20 gauge. Heavier on the fire wall and floor. Ray

  16. 25 cents an hour?? I'm hoping to some day be in that league myself. Right now I just console myself with the knowledge that most guys lose money on their cars, and the 10 cents an hour I made on my last one already puts me in a small, elite group. I've toyed with the idea of doing something similar, I don't have the refined metalwork skills you do, but if i don't jump in and start then I never will. I'm taking notes....

So i went and made a templet from a glass car at the B pillars. Set up a jig and started carving away. I have the A pillars done with hinges on. Will build a door next once the B pillar is in place. I will test skin it as i go. Lots of thinki'n
It's raining here in Oregon so it good to be warm inside. RAY

Working on it a little more. Have some shape to the rear of the car and spent forever getting the door hinges to swing right. Next is making a door frame and then start skining the tub.

Looking real good man! Do me a favour and take as many progress photos as possible. I realy wan't to make my own quarters for my 28 A roadster. I had a look at the way Pat Pryor did his with the buck but the more I can learn the better mine will turn out.

Excellent progress. Can you give us some hints as to how you made the wheelwells? One piece? What tools did you use?
