1932 Ford with a 53 merc flathead. Walter Crew Jr's first car.

Scott found the picture over the weekend and that was what it said on the back.

  6. That there is proof that not all rods "back in the day" had shiny paint.

Just got my wide fives for my build. Had the drums already so it was an easy decision. Looking for the caps now. Love the look of that '32

Plain old ways, pure history: A lot of rods got the chassis parts from a 39 Ford; eng and trans, pedals, front and rear axles, spring ahead front end like this car might have. They stripped one car to get all they needed. That spring ahead 39 axle got the car lower without a dropped axle and it gave them hyd brakes at no extra cost.

Nice pic, thanks for posting it.

  9. Oh for sure, alot dont like the 'clown car' look with the shorter wheel base, I dig it on the right car.
Check out the steering wheel location hahahahaha.

There was a time - a long time back - when I wouldn't have given wide 5's a second look. Now I'm trying to find some for my 3 window

Big John...the one we were chasing is not available at thisn time

continentaljohn...no way of knowing when it was taken but you can tell it is an old pic by the paper. The pic was found in an antique store.

It must have been crazy reaching up to that steering wheel but I think I'd still be grinning the whole time driving this thing.
