Can someone please post a picture of the vertical wood piece just behind the door (either side) at the bottom where it meets the floor of a 1932 ford 5 window coupe. I am trying to figure out what is going on with mine. I think mine is blown out. Is it flat metal below the wood? Thanks in advance.

Here is mine. THe original ones were torched off when it was channeled. I cut the wood off so I could get the new B pillar brackets located. The wood is mainly there for the interior. The original wood went down to about where the lowest cleco fastener is. This B pillar bracket has a rivet on one side, and riddled with spot rivets up and down both sides. What fun it was to remove the old ones, without damaging the B post door jam. I have them blasted and mocked up and waiting on the new floor to show up soon. Can you post a pic of your lower door jam?

I have never seen that metal piece before. I will try to get a picture of mine tomorrow. I am still at work. Thank you.

I bought all new body mount brackets from United Pacific, and they FIT! The main reason I cut the wood off, was some handy torch work done by someone that removed the old floor. The bottom 6-7 inches of the wood were heavily charred. This is what I started with...

Its stamped to match the offset profile of the B pillar. It lays inside and is spot welded in.

I can take a picture with the wood out if that helps. I haven't screwed and nailed the wood in yet.
The B pillar lower structure (spot welded in the actual pillar channel) nests in/on the subrail.

Yes, any pics would help me in my old age. And a part number would help, or a part nomenclature. Did I spell that right?

Thanks guys, you are very kind.

The lower bracket for the B pillar is part # B20027 and are sold in a pair. They are not on the website yet, but are available to order. Aprox 62 bucks for the pair, a guy could not make them for that. The lower support for the A pillar or hinge post that T&A asked about is sold Left and Right. B20129LH and B20130RH. I have a book with most of the parts available at this time for the 5w, feel free to ask about part numbers. The stars are starting to line up for guys fixing these 5w's.

Pics without the wood. I welded the B pillar bracket to the top of the new subrail. Other than that this should look original.
