I wish I could help you out, but I don't know anything about it. I like it, though.

I REALLY like the steering wheel. What kind is that? Are reproductions available? Does anyone know?

Yes indeed. That is a Fatman steering wheel that was a popular aftermarket add on on Model T Fords. There were a number of producers, all typically pivoted up like the one in the picture.

They bring big $$ on Ebay. I have seen a couple nice ones bring $450.

Dig the car, especially the steering wheel. If i had one in my 54 maybe my big ass could get in and out a little easier BUT what gt me was the 2 tone red and green motor. Loved all the details

The only thing that car has going for it is the engine IMO. The "speedster" era died with the Model T Ford, I've yet to see anyone build a Model A Ford based speedster that was era perfect, if in fact there were any in 1928-31. The two 1940 Ford hoods to make the tail section are 10 year too new for the era of the car. Just another overpriced Great Race project, sorry if I broke anyones baloons on my observations. ;)

    Lippy-
ya want me to build ya one? I've got a buddy with a complete A frame, ready to roll, that could be gotten for $1500, motor and all. I'd take a stab at building the body for the right price....
Ahhh shit, just realized I'm 3/4 of the way into a bottle of REALLY good Cabarnet. Maybe I'm not superman. But I do know the guy with the A chassis....

  11. No Balloons broken...I'm not really sure what the hell I would do with it in the first place, just thought it was neat looking and a bit off the path frequently traveled...wanted to see what some HAMB'ers thought if it's quality and design.

    Thanks...:D

Most of these cars are built for a class in The Great Race, a few show up in the flea market at Hershey, and I lump them in with the fiberglass bodied bugatti gp on the Volkswagen floor pan builds. Both projects strike me as a waist of time & money, a rusty Model T or A Ford based Hot Rod is part of the real world and will always have a folowing. :)
