Thanks, its coming along, not as fast as I would like but...

Yah I never came across another section job like this but then most of the time I see em its a ford so when you have a 6 deep frame to work with its different.

Turning to the front, sits about 6" Off the blacktop right now, just trying to get a handle on how much it will drop under full load. Scrubline is going to be another consideration.

Built some parts today, actually originally I bought some parts from Welder Series. See first picture, which after I modified it slightly still ended up being wrong for the application.....So I just decided to make my own...and I think it worked out better.

Update: been trying to get front end together and purchased a disc brake kit to put on but the adapter I got with the kit ended up .045" too small, so I either need a new adapter, machine the existing adapter, or machine the spindles. Also bought new tie-rod ends that I had to re-thread, you know a lot of manufacturers use custom threads?
I guess you can't buy much and expect it to just bolt on when the car is 80 years old.

Looking good! I'm in the midst of a 28 Graham 5 Victoria Coupe, so there are some similarities, so I appreciate your efforts, and pictures!

As a point of interest, I was offered a 30 Olds in trade for mine......just a little while ago too.....and it had really good fenders.......but I wanted a fenderless car.

    Good luck on your progress!

Machine shop called, newly modified adapters are done...more $$$...WOOT. But that means I can get the disc brakes on, and the progress begins again.

    --------------------
I know that Oldsmobile used the 230 and 250
Chev inline-6's as the base engines in various-year
F85's and later, in the Olds Omegas I'm wondering
if these Chevy-6 engines in the F85's and Omega's
had any actual 'Oldsmobile-labeled" air cleaner
or valve cover decals on them? If so, and you use
the 230-Chevy6 and could find some factory
    'Oldsmobile-specific' 6-cylinder Chevy engine decals
to put on it, that would really have some people
scratching their heads and wondering! :)

Well with the new adapters back from the machinist, I could get the disc brakes on and with a little tweaking of the brackets, calipers as well. Gentelmen I now have a rolling chassis!!

The front end is very innovative and looks like it will work very well.I have completed a 31 Olds 5 window coupe resto rod and I am now restoring a 31 Olds Patrician 4 sedan.I have a few extra parts available if you have a need.I am looking for a couple of 18 inch wire wheels. Are your original wire wheels for sale?

Well I gotta say it was nice to get it to this point, it really is starting to come together.

It also makes me realize how much more there is left to go.

  26. Looks great, i like the front end and frame treatment, not something you see every day. Are you going to keep the original spring layout or go to the single sping set up?

Keepin' er Original, I figure why convert a Chey (Olds) over to a Ford ?

  28. Great, not that it matters in your plan, but I love the twin springs and original set ups. The single buggy spring is over done, and im sure Ford only went with it because he was a cheap bastard.
