I have had the idea of it I will try to get some pics up, only problem is to get it finished nice would require a lot of mud or lead, or years of experience and lots of tools which at the time I don't have and am only 21. I think lead may be a decent choice if I decide to do it, just gotta learn the tricks lol. As for mud, the lesss the better I'd like to stay away for it although I will be using some to blend the bottom doors/sides in

So I got the other side and other door done. Now comes the hard part of making the door structural. Here are some pics. I also picked up a model A frame and stock front I beam for drum to drum. I need some advice on hot to get it to sit the way I want. I want it as low as i can go without bags. The frame will be cut up, if I use it at all that is. I am fine with Zing the frame. But not sure about getting a different mount for the leaf, or drop I beam, etc etc. I want to do it right but without dumping tons of money into it. Ideas appreciated! Picture and or links, even better

    Hey Charles,

Nice project, I am waiting on the other side of the world what you are gone do with the front end of the body, I am thinking of putting a '31 Ford visor on it. The rear oval window, well I am thinking of removing it totally and put something really different in it, do not know what..

    keep in touch

Love the Mopars. Love the oval rear window. Universal hinges or suicide hinge kit can be put in front or back. How aboout the mid-30s mopar tube front axle, good looking unit.

NEED HELP getting my doors to open and close!!
I have no clue how to go about this and am willing to bribe someone with beer food and money to do it for me. My doors and hinges were worse that they could be so I had to take a cut off wheel to them. I bought some model A hinges and need advice to get them mounted, instead of 3 hinges per side I plan to go with 2. Here are some pictures of what I'm working with.

Choff, sorry I never got back for you, it has been a busy summer, I decided to brace the body and roof more before making my doors open, I then decided to sandblast the body and mist a coat of weld thru primer on it. Then found a house with a nice big 860 sq ft garage that was in my budget. Needless to say the car will be put on the back burner :( I also blew up by bike and am stuck to 4 wheels for the rest of the summer. Here are some pictures of progress though. Moving out in this picture, the visor was just an idea, not keeping it

And there she is, big garage

Well I got everything in the new house and set up the garage, started measuring everything up, got everything exactly how I want it, ordered some steel up and parts, waiting for it all to come in ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1376588484.421950.jpg

I still need to figure out the mounts for the suicide on the bones. I was thinking about going with theses. Then I can figure out the right spring and then figure out steering

So I want to see what you guys think about my front steering idea, if I go through with it I will be rebuilding the stock tie rods ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1376613431.451267.jpg
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1376613444.834300.jpg
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1376613460.500454.jpg
Obviously if I decide to go this route I will shave the unused tie rod ball off the driver side arm and extending the top arm which will go to the steering box

Thanks! The actual frame was nothing like the wooden one as far as dimensions since I decided not to have a z in the front and the total width, but it did help me teach my way through the metal frame, saved me a lot of metal and simple mistakes I made with the 2x4s

Thanks guys! It was a challenge but was worth the learning experience. I got $170 into metal and still have 10ft left, so I planned it out pretty well, putting the rod ends on the split bones tonight, and cut out some fishtails with the plasma cutter at work, hopefully I will weld those on tonight too

Ok so I need some advice on ride height and what spring and spring mount to go with. I know there are tons of different ways to do mounts and tons of kinds of springs out there, I will probably need to go with with a reverse eye of some sort. What is a good ride height? I was thinking 7-8? And how much will it drop with motor and trans, an inch??
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1376958082.088428.jpg
Here is the frame spaced up for mock up, should I go higher?
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1376958139.505180.jpg
Here is a stock model A spring, it's junk though, the main leaf is cracked
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1376958186.138032.jpg
Another shot of where a stock spring sits
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1376958218.104392.jpg
Here is a picture of roughly the stock A spring center to the center of the wishbone which is 4"

    Anyways, advice would be appreciated
Also I got my fishtails cutout and mounted
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1376958358.737924.jpg
They are pretty crude but will be blended with a flapper disc
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1376958413.455086.jpg
Got three of them welded in until my welder decided to over heat, so here I sit on my HAMB app on my phone ( since I don't have Internet) waiting for it to cool down
