'28-'31 Chevy frame rails are excellent. They have the shape, height of rail in the center, and conform to '26-'27 and Model A bodies.

As my son said, (RichTinSanazay) I've fitted late-'20s to early '30s Dodge rails to '27 T's, very similar to '32 Ford rails, but without the reveal.

I would say you have a handle on which way to go, judging from your considerations regarding proportions, practical application, etc.
But I always try and take a rail that will fit solidly, and has a profile to compliment the body being used.
Sounds like you are on the same 'page'...

  2. Very close to one another as far as frame rails if not identical.

I think his name is Dave … he does friction shocks and Lincoln brake stuff.
Yellow w hot A or B motor … it has a really cool hinged windshield using 31 parts I believe.

Could you point me in the direction of this car? I've been thinking about doing something similar with a 1931 Chevy chassis that I have and would like to see what it looks like.

    Thanks.

(I haven't come up with anything using the search function yet)

i have been looking for the photo of the 27 ford roadster on a 32 chevy frame but have not found it again on the hamb. it was red with a black frame. there was a lot of exhaust soot on the side of the roadster.

it sure seems that there is a real shortage of 20s and 30s mopar frames in Minnesota.

I assume you already have an early Dodge frame. If not look at a 1980/82 Dodge D50 pickup chassis. I have a 1928 Dodge Victory Six Coupe on a 1980 Dodge D50 Chassis. The stock frame has a nice drop on both ends. It also has curved frame rails and actually fits inside the body. As you might guess I cut both ends off and welded frame horns on the front.
