Post a photo of the firewall. Ford did offer a "Commercial" firewall for chassis that would get truck or other aftermatket bodies. Bob

That's not a T firewall. Looks like it works... but I've never seen one of like that on a T, unless its a very old aftermarket one.

NO, that is the exact firewall I was talking about in an earlier reply. Ford offered it on the "Chassis only" sales. Something to also note is the hole for the steering column. It is more upright like the 1925 and earlier style, the 26-27 had a square based column were it attached to the firewall, and a drop out piece under it on the original firewall. Also the commercial firewall won't have any brackets for the cowl mounted gas tank, they used the underseat oval tank. All STONE STOCK restoration info, the one in the photo will work fine in a Hot Rod, and may give you an extra inch of engine room. Bob :)

i have another firewall like this one but it has the lower drop out section for the steering. these firewalls also give you more engine room.

I was looking for a '26/7 firewall and was sent one that came from a closed car that looked like yours. The petrol tank was in the back of the car in the closed car so the firewall did not need accommodate the petrol tank like it does in the roadster.

I gave up looking and made my own. This stuff is not too common here in the UK.

Thanks for starting this thread and for those who shared the correct info. That is a really neat part and would be perfect for a hot rod where some more engine room is needed. Many times guys notch the more common bulged firewalls and they almost always don't look very attractive. Finding one of these flat commercial firewalls would be an awesome alternative.

GREAT link! That is a great illustration of the 26-27 Commercial "chassis only" I mentioned in an earlier reply. I've never seen that 1925 and earlier "Fordor" firewall. Thanks for the additional info. Bob :)
