Just purchased the 16" Kelseys from rustyford1, now guys, what size can I get for tires on the front. I thought of running 275r75 on the rear. What looks good and what works.??
Are you set on radials? I'm running firestone 4.50-4.75-16 up front and 7.50-16 out back, looks perfect. cant beat the hotrod look of blackwall bias-plys if ya ask me.
If you're going to run a tire as big as 275 on the rear then a 215/70/16 wouldn't look too out of place on the front even though it's not a particularly small tire. Decent reasonably priced small radial rubber for 16" wheels is thin on the ground. Michelin, Dunlop & a few others sell sizes such as 185-16 but they are seriously pricey. Another thing---you're going to have some trouble getting a tire as wide as a 275 on an early Ford 16" wire. They are only about a five inch wide rim. How's about a tall skinny semi-bias looking 215-85-16 truck tire for the back? I know that one will fit since a lot of gennie Model As are running around with 16" wheels and 215-70-16 radials.
Coker are doing repop's of the Firestone Block Dirtrackers and ribbed implements from the CRA "Roarin Roadster" days that started all this....... Living History........What more could you want?
Great size is 7.50 16 on rear and a 5.00/5.25 16 on the front. Coker sells them and they are perfect on a 32.
