WOW! Don't think I've ever heard a flatty rev like that. Expected it to pop a bit harder at idle, but guess that's the ports and tune. I'd love for them to provide a deep dive into what it takes to run that beast.
That engine is now going to take a shot at Bonneville in a 34 5-window. Union Speed Shop is building it now. https://www.instagram.com/pineapple_jay/
In the 60's we had an 1/8 mile strip outside of town. One of the local heros was Stan Lomalino who ran a flathead powered dragster. He used to run against a Chrysler powered dragster, I believe it was called the Guzzler. I think the Guzzler had top speed at the strip, but Stan had low E.T. I remember an article in one of the car magazines calling Stan's car the world's fastest flathead. That was probably the early 60's.
@alchemy that’s cool! I’ve heard it run in the coupe sounds mean as hell! Awesome that it has some history
I stood next to it as it launched at BIR in Brainerd Minnesota a few years ago. Impressive, to say the least.
Very cool! Joey, if your ever in Texas........you should look up the guys that own the Scorpion Dragster. It ran for a couple of years at the HAMB Drags back in the day & they had TONS of history and pix of the racecar back in the day that they were sharing. You should sit down with them and document their history. Chris
