Yeah, I watched an extended cab 4x4 go 12.20 at 108 mph the other week at the track. All we saw was a shitload of black smoke and the thing was gone!

Saw a "hotrod" show on Spike? TV over the week end where they took a Diesel pickup and dyno'd it at 168 HP then added Propane injection and nitros injection and thats it and it put out 458HP!
I found it verry interesting... [IMG]

    Thats movin'!

At the All Ford drags last month there was a jacked up redneck style F150 4x4 with a BBF 500+ cuber; was in the 12's constantly. The only thing missing was the bass boat.

I have a '97 Dodge 4x4 Diesel with a utility bed. It weighs between 7,500 and 8,000 pounds (depends on what tools, and how many gallons of fuel are in it) that'll smoke the tires.

I bought it stock, and with $2,000 worth of parts took it from 185 to 385hp and between 600 and 800 ft pounds of torque. Sounds like BS, but it isn't. That $2,000 was injectors, govenor springs (change the way the rev limiter kicks in), larger turbo housing, and a few other goodies. The head stayed on, and there's no propane, NOS or chips.

Yup, it isn't traditional *at all*, but it's a great chase/tow truck for our hotrods.

go to www.turbodieselregister.com for more fast Cummins powered Dodge stuff.

A friend of mine has been in the Tractor pulling business since he was about 14. They spend some serious Jack on those Diesels. He has about $40k in his most recent Powerplant.

Just like Drag Racing, if you want to play with the Big Boys, you gotta spend the Big Bucks.
