That kind of small town hot rods, have always tripped my trigger. A lot of them ended up in “lesser” magazines of the day. Usually not quite the spit and polish of the high profile boys ; but just as cool nonetheless!
Just a small percentage of rods & customs were featured in magazines compared to the number of average Joe's car built in the driveway or back yard and some of these cars would rival what was seen inside the pages of your newsstand magazines. Most of the magazines were published in California and therefore most of the material could be sourced locally,but from time to time others submitted cars from around the country and the world. HRP
Check out the big window pickup tow vehicle. Interesting that none have a visible class designation. Great photos!
