Congratulations on such a superb result. You did a great job of navigation through all the build issues.
I like the vintage lever shocks. I hope you find the space for them. But I do cringe a little bit at the thought of you having to modify the build to get them to work.
Such is the lot of a true hot rodder.

Do those shocks have a large rubber puck inside that the arm clamps to on the outer edge?

Stunning outcome @jordabennett, did you travel to the land of Auz...talk about jumping around...congrats on going fast in style...you should be proud...

I guess the grill posed problems...the substitute really suits it to a T...are you planning on perfecting what you removed and swapping it back in or going with the latter?...either way you nailed it...

Sorry Trog was cancelled but mother nature loses her cool many times with no mercy...

Do you now what I like jordabennett?
I like that you take the time to radius the sharp corners.
I like the fact that you take the time to bevel all the edges of the metal plate you use.
I know your knuckles will thank you when the wrench slips and your hand lands on those softened edges.
Tell me about it. I'm down here in SWFL dealing with the hand Hurricane Ian dealt us. My car projects are on hold for now. Our place is livable but 20,000 folks still are without a home to go home to.

so, I have a question for you

I would happily purchase a couple of
T-shirts that were colored to mimic the hard earned patina above

Let me know and I’ll send a separate email

ratreo, get some bauxite and put on the dampened T shirt, let it set for couple of day. The red that remains and will not wash out.

  22. Managed to get the sides roughly fitted and look great, I will end up running four rows or early clam shell style louvers on the hood, and leave the sides as I don’t think it needs it with the pipes.
Should I polish the aluminum or paint sides and hood body colour and contained a few pin strips? I’m on the fence. 302D2862-1140-4E13-9950-6260B3BB25D6.jpeg B3F9B7C1-F01A-4083-A43A-484626DFFC8F.jpeg 4AEB4504-104B-41F3-86D7-280B926F48B5.jpeg

To me it would always look unfinished, but it's not mine. While my opinions are sort of important to me, nobody else seems to be as pleased with them as I am.

...not quite sure why that is, haha.

I'd go with paint too.... but something tells me that regardless of what you end up with, it's going to come out looking awesome!

PAINT, definitely pinstripes, and some sort of lettering or mascot painting. But that's just me

I would paint and put the louvers on the sides. Leave the top smooth. It will look more streamlined.

Polish the louvers, then mask them off and paint the rest?
