Longer rod, shorter piston... if the piston really is hitting the crankshaft.... I wish I could help more but I honestly have never heard of that....

Dad. He was building cut-downs when I was 6 years old. 57 Chevy chassis, shortened and narrowed with 350 Chevy small blocks and torch heated/bent...
