The Jalopy Journal
Damn, that Unknown, he got around back in the day!
I think we may have found somebody to take over for Patty.
Anybody got any pictures of Paul Stage's comp roadster?
How many of you built the Miss Deal studebaker gasser and how many times did you build it over or built a new one? I had several along with the...
I hope there's more on the way too. Pat Foster did Flaming Frank Pedregon's coupe, guaranteed way nicer than the original probably ever was. I'm...
Agreed on the tuner cars for sure. People look at me funny when I head to the pits, concessions or whatever when pro-stock is called to the line....
Cancer got plenty of them, that's why they're so expensive now. Same applies to all old iron.
Chris, back in the day, there were a lot of hideous race cars that now have grown on me. When I was a kid, I never understood the old aa/fuel...
I'm really surprised that more VW's didn't meet their fate in this manner. I think it's cool as hell but I see that it's an oval and I cring just...
That covers that. I need to see if I can find some more vintage VW drag cars.
Appears to be a 60-63 European model imported to the states. Note lack of overriders on bumpers. 63 was the last year for the factory "ragtop".
Very cool! (o\ ! /o)
How 'bout some kraut kans?
That's not Buster with a fro is it?
If remember right, one of the big magazines, Hot Rod, Car Craft, etc. had a sequence of shot of that wreck. Maybe my mind's playin' tricks on me,...
I think that's Larry Reyes up and the cars first pass.
If my sources are right, that's Larry Reyes up. I'm thinkin' the car was brand new, first pass.
Sure would like to see the tape. I have found a little clip on you tube with Stage's car in it. 5 to 10 seconds worth maybe, none of the shots are...
The 392 from the Garlits car would be perfect if it was in 1/16th scale. Unfortunatley, it's in 1/25th.
This is the only thing I've been able to find other than in my memory which was probably 38 years ago or so. [IMG] Somebody has to have some pics.
I much prefer the blue and white car myself. From what I've found, it was only white in it's injected form. I think the car was way ahead of it's...
Back again, begging. Does anybody have any photos of Paul Stage's AA/C from the late 60's-early 70's? Meanwhile, enjoy some Mike Sullivan....
www.detailmaster.com There are several others as well. Google search for model car tires. There are also some out there that are cast resin.
Sombody has to have some pics of the Paul Stage AA/R. Please post them.
It had a 23T body on it at the 69 US Nationals and that's the only way I remember seeing it in magazines over time. There's a video on youtube,...
Man, I am gassed. I don't know how many months I've been chasing this thread for an hour here, an hour there. What a magnificent pictorial...
Hands down, my favorite drag car of all time. Does anybody know if this car still exists? What a thread...
