The main mistake I made was not to run a straight edge over it all before I started welding and repairing things - it may have changed my approach...
If I end up with a polished wood grain flat tray instead of a truck bed you will know I messed it up lol... Normally I wouldn't be too fussed...

As an alternative, could I totally cut out the flange, hammer and dolly the top flat and then weld in a replacement flange
