ok looks like number stamped on the block is "EFD 692"; hard to tell as it has multiple strikes on some digits
thinking about broken rockers I think I will just pull the heads so that no damage occurs (or the rocker rail)
thanks for the info VTWHEAD -not adjustable rockers, but will remove and protect the valve covers today still (in an office, not the shop)
ok tried to take off the driver exhaust manifold, center exhaust port bottom bolt, does that go into a coolant passage? When I pulled it water...

thanks Paul, yea looks like a teardown is in order -the valve covers do have embossed Oldsmobile Rocket on them
did they make a 3 x 2 setup for 303 or 324?
no it doesn't run, soaking the cylinders for a couple of days before I even try and turn over, it is in a Kellison J6, looks like Olds front frame...
[ATTACH] [ATTACH] just bought, has casting number 567905 on the block, heads are #8, for some reason I don't see this casting number for the block...
