This trans did decode to 93 S-10. I wish I could find the tag so I could post up the number! Regardless, it is WC (has front "Timken" bearing...
The Camaro shaft is shorter with splines cut further down the length of the shaft, as seen in the picture. I should be able to just bolt up the...
Yep, the shafts are identical except for the spline lengths and overall lengths mentioned above. I have the Camaro shaft in the box now. Just...
I think I've concluded that is what this had been used for. All of the diagrams, pictures and videos I've viewed show nothing like this. The...
OK, three people now suggesting it is a shim for adjusting bearing pre-load under the retainer bearing race. That's what I'll go with on the new...
It is .015" thick, 2.50" outer diameter, 2.14" inner diameter. The transmission is a world class from an S10, 14 spline input shaft with GM...
Hell, I'm not sure of anything except that it fell out when I pulled the shaft. Under the bearing retainer may very well be the spot. It's...
I've searched high and low, found tons of info, but nothing addressing the assembly of the parts in the picture. I pulled the input shaft from my...
Dad's '57 fuelie. Originally white/white, painted copper with moon discs and lakes pipes after he bought it. He has said of all the cars he's...
GM said no more than .060" in 48-51 manual. Don't know that 52 would be different. Problem is they don't give a max. measurement-how do you know...
Dad's 57 Fulie-the only car he regrets not keeping...
I'm throwin in my hat. Here's when it came home and about where I'm at so far...
Ditto. If real spoke wheels a dial indicator mounted on a magnetic base will show out of round and side to side runout. I don't know what it...

I'm no engineer, nor am I trying to imply that those brackets are inferior BUT That seems to be putting quite a bit of faith in the pins....
One more link- This gives a pretty good list of donor cars and some basic information, some of which has already been covered...
I'm not sure if the BJ shank taper is the same for the Camaro to the Monte, but the cast-in steering arms on the Monte spindles will not end up in...

Not the best solution, but should work if you can't get the plug outta the head, or don't have a hole there to begin with...
Soaking in phosphoric acid will eat the rust out and perhaps free it up for you. I've been using it on my 51 truck with pretty good success....
