What are you Henry J Builder/owners using for a Rad ? Sbc engine, Turbo 350 Trans. what cutting or mods did you have to do, without hacking up to much? Thanks ...
I haven't gotten to my radiator yet but I have a custom front stub and am working on a tilt front end so my options are wide open. I'm thinking about a '67 Chevelle SS 396 replacement one from Rock Auto. Blue
I use an aluminum one for a stock car . Got it from Speedway Motors Race catalogue. It has cooled a big block and a blown small block with on issues. Oh yea its on Alky. It didn't have a core support so I built one. Hooley
I have a radiator out of a '52 Henry J that had the flathead Supersonic engine. The radiator is VERY close to the 65/65 Mustang radiator I have in my Model A. I can get photos and measurements for you. If you have a stock radiator already, I have a thread with photos, measurements and info for the 65/66 Mustang radiator.
Both radiators have oil cooler hook ups. Spectra part #A1463 for Inline 6 Depth -1.938 Height- 16.313 Width- 16.938 1.25" inlet and outlet. Sprectra part #B130 for V8 Depth -1.938 Height- 16.313 Width- 16.938 1.5" Inlet, 1.75" outlet. The difference between the V8 and inline 6 is the 1.5" inlet and 1.75" outlet diameter. So the replacements for V8 and V6 are the same in dimension, but differ in outlet location and hose size. inline 6- V8- I can't find other info on the Henry J online. But the core size is close. Henry J Core 17x17 Inlet Size 1-1/2" Outlet Size 1-1/2"
If you wouldnt mind , that would be great... we have a very crappy bunch of stores up here... auto wreckers have nothing ..
Hi.. The one I have, had the 4 cyl. engine.. I didnt want to cut the fire wall so the engine is on the a frame. Ill have to run a electric fan in front of the rad and move the center bar that holds up the hood latch area.. I may have to run a curved bar for support ..
i used a 65 mustang rad for a hi po 289 3 core, lower hose is on right side trimmed off the brackets made new one to hold it from top i run electric fan in front of it no cutting or modifying the support. cools my blown 283 great
Yeah from what i see it will almost drop in. Both radiators I posted will work they're both three core. Just find the one with hoses that fit your application. Auto zone stocks them.
