That sure is one tidy'32. Excellent score! I would try to reuse as mutch of its original character as possible ; if it were mine. Enjoy!

Great score and a killer 32...I like the old crome window moldings. Will be fun to watch what you do with it.

You guys saved me from buying an adapter today. I remembered Lasalle for some reason and having never dealt with one I assumed, bad idea. Anyone have info on Packard adapters? Will begin my search now, thanks!!!

The chrome molding thing must have been huge back in the day, when I found my 5w they were plated too. Good job with your purchase!

That color and those wheel discs... I'm sure I saw that car or one very much like it in a magazine back in the 70's. Could have been Hot Rod or Rod Action back in those days.

What a well preserved Deuce. From the fabrication on the transmission crossmember I'd say this build was a cut above average for the time. Please share what you do to it as you get ready for the road again.

It was covered somewhere on hamb, but I don't recall which engine the adapter was for.

I think "little wing" did some posts on Packard adapters?

Here's some pics of before and after I cleaned the interior, came out pretty darn nice. Also added a pic of the work they did on the driveline, shortened it up a bit. Put her eye's back on along with the bumper. the only adapters I've found so far are for a big block Ford and a long bell Chrysler, neither of which excite me too much although I have a rebuilt 53 hemi with and Edmunds dual quad intake, lot of engine. I think I'd rather have something a little lighter. Thanks for all the great comments, been on cloud 9 all day! Please PM me if you know of any Packard adapters for sale.

That is an awesome 5 window. Looking forward to seeing it get on the road.

  17. That is very nice!
What is the steering box? Could you post a detail shot of the steering box and the pitman arm. I would like to see how it was mounted. Thanks.

    FANTASTIC!

That's such a great way to start a car. Great condition, history to guide you if required, already hot rodded back in the day but still plenty of room to put your individual stamp on it - just perfect.

Subscribed and thanks for the updates - keep 'em comin'.

I hope you can find a Pontiac adapter for that trans and run it just the way it was built, the car has a neat history and would be very cool to preserve it. The interior sure did clean up nice. I think it would also be neat to see how much of that green paint could be brought back underneath the primer, and I second whoever said keep the pedal setup, it's very period and wouldn't bother me a bit.

Cool story, hope to hear more.

  21. Awesome car. If you can clean up the outside like you cleaned the inside, the car will look even better!

Lucky lucky you. Be sympathetic with it. I love the K-member modification. Very nicely done. I'll remember that;-)

Here's an advert for a couple of Packard adapters.

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=842782

I'd love to see more of the torque tube adaption on the end of the Packard trans.

I have 3 of them, and they are all open drive. I have the article on how to adapt a Chev torque tube to them, and was discussing it just yesterday with some hot rod buddies.

    It is not a 32 steering box. I suspect a F 100 or a Hudson.

Is there any chance the Pontiac engine he pulled from it is still laying around in the garage?

IMHO,putting that back in there would be really cool.
