Hey guys I blew my original 54 235 on the way to the Roundup a couple of weeks ago and have forund a replacement motor. I now have a 1956 Thriftmaster 235 and want to install it but am running accross a few issues. First is water pump, its different in size and location, will this be a problem with using my original fan from the 54 235? Next are motor mounts, so I cant mount in the same location because the motor mount holes for a side mount are in different locations, and to do a front mount I'd need to install mount hols on a solid front crossmember. Damn, I'm stumped, any suggestions out there?

    Thanks,

Was in a similar situation but reversed. Needed a motor for my '56 Chevy, bought a prefect running rebuilt 235 out of a '54 (original to the car) too many differences for me to swap. I've still got the '54 235. Paid 700 for it. if interested, I can assist with shipping. -In Maine 04055

Well in turns out I have a 1956 trademaster 235-261, truck motor. I'd hate to hack it up just to fit it into my car, so I'll seriously consider it. What does shipping look like if I'm in NM?

I had a 283 shipped freight from CO to NY ran about 250 to ship it. I would image the weight is pretty close and the distance is not too far off. I needed to have it shipped to a loading dock, I picked it up from there.

Shipper had to crate it for the freight company.

Liquid I know of a good complete 235 in a 59 truck with original Saginaw still attached. If you're still looking it is on Long Island.
