As the weather warms up I'm slowly making progress on the truck, I finally found a door at Decatur swap meet. The lower part of the door was in really bad shape an required a major portion of the door to be fabricated. Then I had to fabricate the lower part of the door. Now with the door sand blasted I could start welding every thing up. I have made some more progress on the door such as fixing that noticeable gap on the front of the door, I also found a 35 truck bed at the LSRU so my next post ill have the door finished an start cutting the bed down to fit pictures coming soon!
You have raised the consumption level of Dykem to a new high. My 32 just had a few problems. Yours was a problem. You're doing well. I hope you enjoy the project. Just to do it because you can isn't a very satisfying reason. I have thought about making doors before. It looks like you're about to find out if that's a viable alternative. Best wishes.
Very nice presentation of how to do it the right way. The workplace is squeaky clean and your overall theme for the build is well thought out. I am enjoying the thread. Keep up the progress reports. One of the best threads going right now for me as I am working on a 32 chassis. Lynn
Thanks again guys, I'll be picking up a 33-36 axel from Joe at the Pate swap meet so I hope to have the truck into a roller soon.
I'm not sure why all my photos vanished but I have actually made lots of progress on my truck and I will post pictures soon!
