I can't wait to get out of school and see some sweet rods and customs! This will be my 4th year going!

 

IMPORTANT PRE REG INFO - due to many requests for pre registration extension - we are EXTENDING PRE REGISTRATION to FRIDAY the 18th! All those that want to send in your pre registrations through the mail need to have your letters postmarked on the 18th. Thanks for the big response today and for those of you that requested the extra few days....we hope that you will tell all your fellow gearheads about the Pre Registration benefits - getting in early, saving $5 and getting $5 off event shirt. Even if you don't have a car - you still get all this for buying advance tickets. THANKS

 

Can't wait I'm getting anxious only 2.5 weeks to go......it feels like an eternity! This is my first road trip/ car show of the year. Bringing the brother in law and the sister in law along for the excitement! They will be blown away at the cars and the amount of people, they have no idea. And the best part is its for an awesome cause. Thank you John for inviting me last year it meant the world, although I can not be there for the whole weekend's festivities i'm still making the trip just for an overnight trip. It's so worth it, and to see new friends from last year. Thanks to everyone involved for making this a gotta go destination. See ya soon!

yes - we are going to try chain racing again this year. Front car has engine and NO brakes and the back car has no engine and only brakes...... - of course everything is dependent on the track. This is scheduled for Friday night, so this may be one of the highlights of the entire show...... so be sure to stick around on Friday night to check out the action. If you have an old escort or Taurus that would be a good demo derby type car, bring it out to the show. I am sure we can find a tow chain to drag the car around the track! I am looking for some company, in the form of other cars, and people to make the trip from northern Illinois (McHenry County) heading out friday the 2nd in the morning. I just think it would be nice to get a little group of cool cars to cruse with, and the added support in case on a issue never hurts. Plan on taking Rt20. Ill be cruzin my lumpy 50 chevy.

My hata is off to you for the way you donatethe proceeds to help families. I startd a swap meet in cartersville ga in feb and 20% of the gate goes to our veterans program thru the ameridan legion. I still have jnsurance and advertising to pay, somtomes out of my pocket. Somtimes people dont under stand the costs of putting on events, as they get larger, operating expenses gowaaaaaaaaay up!

Thanks for the nice words, and yes, most people do not realize the expense that goes into these events. This year insurance is $5k!!!
That is JUST insurance.....
Nevermind the advertising, portable bathrooms, bands, mailing costs, etc. We have to have a LOT of spectators walk through the door before we break even. After we break even, we then can give money away to help families that have children suffering from heart defects.
