Somewhere in the spastic interim between Monday of last week and now, I've lost all sense of what actually went down this weekend. It happens every year really... and I've often thought that a well placed time lapse camera trained on the back of my h...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
Great time as always, I would like to thank the unsung heroes behind the scenes that make it all happen every year. The challenges they must face keeping up with the constant growth of the event! Here's to you!!
It just keeps getting better...................I have been to every one since the first at House Park Stadium, on to Fiesta Shores, and then to the unexpected move to the Expo Center due to rain. Sure, you hear the complaints about Congess, but that's just growth, man. We have more to do now than ever before, Open House at Mungle's Garage, Meatheads Cookout, Garage Crawl, A.S.S. open house and party, Top Notch Hamburgers Movie Night, and the list goes on............hell, you don't even need to leave the Expo Center to have great night life! My hat is off to Steve, Will, Brian, and all of the Kontinental's for making this one of, if not THE best show in the country, and their help along with that of a certain Web-Guru in pushing Austin into the center of the known HotRod and Kustom Universe! It just keeps getting better....................
The show has definitely changed over the years - grown up if you will. There's a lot of fellas that don't like the unrestrained chaos and the overwhelming hugeness of the show these days, but like so many things in life you get out what you put in. Its a damn good show, and a damn good time if you're willing to let yourself enjoy the spectacle. BTW, thanks for taking time on both Friday and Saturday to shoot the shit, Ryan.
Ryan - thank you so much, man - for all that you do to help us keep this thing a-going. Getting the Jalopy Journal pick for The Jewel after all the killer work by Kail, Keith and the whole Austin Speed Shop crew, and Tuki and his guys - Phil and Brent. I am a happy and grateful guy to know so many talented people. Getting to see it roll in and enjoy the moment with Reggie and Joe C was priceless. Easily the best Round Up ever, hands down for me.
I was showing the wife some pics from the show, she thinks we should go next year. Not just go, drive to it next year. Not just drive there, drive there in the Merc. Drive there in the Merc I haven't started yet. She told me I should get going on it then. Well, there you have it, the plan is to drive from Ottawa, CANADA to Austin, in April, in a car that has not been built yet. I can't wait!
You left out the best part of the weekend, grabbin' my butt! With out the Ryan and the HAMB this show would not exist as it does today. Can't thank you enough for all your support bro. Sorry I lied, Sitting with Brian when he got HAMB pick was the best part of the weekend.
