Technical Alternator adjusting.

I had disconnected my alternator to relocate it about a month ago. It's a A/C Delco unit. It has a modular plug in on the side & a rear post w/ 3 wires attached. Before disconnecting it the output was about 14 volts. I just restarted the motor & the alternator is only showing 12 volt output even when the motor is revved. Is there an external adjustment to increase the output back to 14. I've connected a volt meter to the alternator & it show 12 volts also, so it shouldn't be my gauge. Thanks for the help. Pat

 

None that I know of, probably just died, should put out 14 volts

 

Drive it down the road,I have seen alternators read 10 to 12 and after a few miles the will jump to 14 volts again. HRP
