Does anyone know where I can get a new bearing for a 1949 ford flathead truck wide belt fan. it looks similar to a water pump bearing and shaft assembly. like the one pictured?
I asked the same question on the flathead site, which produced this thread : http://www.flatheadsrus.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3975&p=25427 Unfortunately, I couldn't find either of the bearing numbers online. I am if Florida for the winter, and decided to wait until I got back to Minnesota this spring before I started seriously chasing things down. Ross really seems to have done his homework on this.
60-64 Corvair fan/blower bearing should do the job. At least that was what I used for that job back in the 60s. As I recall the Bower/BCA part # was 900590 . But anyway Clark's Corvair parts has them $25 or so last tme I bought one.
I came up with NSK 885586 WATER PUMP BEARING on Ebay for $31.00 it is a universal bearing than needs to have the shaft trimmed to fit
8-Track, Thanks for finding this source. The only place I found them wanted a minimum order of 50 (they were a lot cheaper, though). If you would, can you post how it all worked out when you are finished? Tubman
