The intent was probably an assumption that any vehicle less than 1500 lbs would be a small moving, slower speed vehicle that wouldn't generate spray?
To a Hot Rodder it sounds like a challenge.:D

I think that wood be very cool. Reminds me of a Ruxton or some of the lowered and powered European cars but I can't remember the makes.

No fenders going on this one even though required by law, my rolling piece of civil disobedience.

  6. I'm shooting for the mid-late 50's look on my RPU. I'll be running bobbed fenders in the rear and cycles in the front

sent via classroom note. pass it on

Sorry it's all in your head if fenders look cool or not, just check out these Aussie fenders, they fight a battle to comply and here is an example of ,don't stress just fit em and drive happy. We are lucky in New Zealand that we can drive fender less but Need to attend two sanctioned ( NZHRA) events every year and we are sweet to enjoy driving a highboy as long as it's pre 1934
But don't think it's worth getting hung up on yay or nay fenders just get out and enjoy your rod and keep the beauraucrats happy. Still it's not worth hassling the Aussies on their rules, but the rules are what you get and you gotta play by the rules or get time out on the side line!! Do the miles what ever the rules.

Check these out! Hand made by a metal shop teacher around 1960. Made when he got a ticket from the Long Beach PD for running fenderless.
As much as I appreciate them, they will be cherished while hanging in the rafters.

In Ontario Canada, the law is a vehicle must have a means of preventing wheel spray. The courts over the years have accepted the fact that this would only occur on wet or loose gravel roads. If the Police get on your wrong side they will and can still lay the charge. So if you are a good boy and drive only on dry roads everybody is happy.

    I prefer "NO FENDERS"

I like my original steel fenders and resisted the push to chop the top.

I really liked the look of mine without the fenders, but then I decided to fit them and see, love how it looks now, took a bit of time to get the wheel to fender right but worth every minute.
