Anyone know where I can get reproduction sheet metal for this coupe; the rear roll pan in the back, in particular? I've done a pretty thorough search and have yet to find a source.
Try the Studebaker club...they'd be your best bet. I had a '40 Commander similar and I used a '67 Chevy front fender and formed the pan from that... FWIW, I have a couple of rust-free front fenders for that car and a couple of grilles, in case you are interested... R-
I formed a pan for my Dodge with part of an old hood. I would love to see more pictures of you Studebaker!
Hey Rodshop, what's up...haven't seen you for a couple of years...where you been keeping yourself...??? R-
Roger, do you happen to have any photos of the tail end of your old car? I'd like to get an idea of what its supposed to look like. Someone attempted to repair the area and cut away most of the roll pan where it forms into the trunk floor
Actually Caddy-O...now that I see the front of your Stude, that's a '39 center hood chrome piece...and the grilles look like '39 too. A '40 center hood piece has smooth sides all the way down...and the grilles are egg-crate style. Also, the side panels on your car are '40 Stude as '39 only had one piece of chrome trim. Close as I can get to what the rear pan looks like... Look at the center hood piece-this is a '40 Stude chrome piece...and the grilles are egg crate. '39 and '40 Commander models are almost identical, as are the headlights are different, the grilles, the taillights and the trunk handle. If I remember correctly the bumpers are slightly different. The dash is different also, but all body parts are interchangeable. R-
