Which is cooler flathead six or OHV V8?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Rusty O'Toole, Mar 23, 2013.

  1. Flathead six with a BW overdrive. Driven mine 40,000+ miles and it's always got me home.

  2. Lots of valid arguments either way. After building my touring I have a new criteria. I ask myself, "self, can I drive this car to the HAMB Drags? West Coast? to BTT50's?" If the answer is no I have to re-evaluate some aspect of the car.

If you don't mind getting your doors blown off by a Soccer Mom in a four cylinder Camry. keep the Flathead Six.

  4. No, instead, show her your "belly button" as you go past her.

  5. this thread is about a year old so I would think the choice has been made.....but this is a HOT ROD site so I must go for the V8!

Yes, the original question, on this board, should have been "Hemi or Poly?" ;)

The mistake is asking. Just build. What's cooler will depend on the radiator and thermostat you match to the engine.
