I hope not, it would be a real shame.

I have run the motor on the primary plugs then swapped the leads onto the secondary plugs. It does still run but you can tell it lacks power and won't idle. I've not run both sets of plugs yet, waiting for the second dizzy to arrive in the post, but it's all ready to go.

  3. awesome work and i am curious if it will change the sound of the exhaust.

Interesting.. I have thought of doing a similar conversion but by welding in a set of exhaust ports and making it an f head. Always wondered where the plug would be best located in that case. Guess it wouldn't be above the piston!

Definately some of the most amazing machinist/mechanic work I've ever seen!

On any single plug engine, get the plug as close to the center of the cylinder as mechanically possible ---- you don't require as much spark advance at all RPM.

Has anyone tried a Roto-Faze style of dual distributor drive? (not 4 and 4 on a V-8 but 8 and 8 on a dual plug V-8)

Amazing work!! So what do you plan on setting the secondary timing at? Same curve? Any thoughts yet?

Fantastic work Pete. Pete's not only an accomplished machinist but a skilled metalwoker too.

I love seeing his work but it does remind me I'm a hack by comparison.

    Dammit!

Now just add a pair of Dual Coil dizzys and make the novice wonder why you have 4 coils.

Absolutely fantastic from conception through to execution.
