Went through some old pictures of my grandpas. Found some from when my roadster was first being built!

Great to see the original build pic's!!

Nice deal on the 327, now get the "new" motor in and wire things up. Roadster weather is just around the corner.

Did a little work the last few nights. Ripped the wiring out and most of the interior, there was wires under there too. I don't understand the reason of having 3 times the body length in wires under the dash.

Thanks guys! And I keep catching myself staring at it. Not too much more to go now though; heads/cam/alternator for the engine, torque converter for the trans, then wire/fuel it up and hope it runs!

Came home from class last night to find my interior practically completely done. My dad stayed up late and kicked a whole lot of ass on it and it came out great!

When I got home today I decided to make sure my main caps were torqued to the correct specs seeing as how only one of my head bolts were. Found a little water in the oil caused from a head gasket leak. No big deal and everything is cleaned up now!

So bad news and good news. Bad news is the machine shop says my heads are cracked. Good news is I have all the parts to put my engine/tranny in tomorrow. I have this set of really gummy, dirty, gross heads that I can run. Just have to clean them up really nicely. Other than that I got my cam, lifters, torque converter, and a buncha fittings and gaskets to play with this weekend!

Are heads you have from 283 you traded for the 327?

Looks like your making great progress getting your Grandpa and Dad's (now yours) roadster back on the road. Really good to see a young guy so wrapped up in a hot rod project. Keep at it like you have been and it will be on the road in no time.
BTW, I'd keep the blue dots right where they are and like has already been suggested, drive it like a sane human being and don't draw attention to yourself and I'll bet you won't have any problems from the law.

Well I found out more bad news today. The transmission I thought was rebuilt turbo 350 had pieces of something in the pan. I'm not a tranny guy so I have absolutely no clue what it is. But that will be going to a shop tomorrow afternoon and hopefully will be done Friday. Got the bottom of the engine completely together minus the water pump. And yes the heads are off of the wore out 283, and I believe the air cleaner was from a friend Barrett, not sure where he got it from.

ChanceDean...You are livin' right! Grandpa, Dad support, #1!

Barrett and Ho...All from around Tyler, TX. Sounds like good territory.

Good judgement on steps taken so far, sorry to hear about heads, etc. But Fuzzy said it best: "Building hot rods is 2 steps forward, 1 step back!"

This has been a great thread...Young guy with GOOD attitude; excellent company; super project; (really liked the surprise interior your Dad surprised you with. You guys rock.)
