202 downtown cocoa,beach kings hyway, 04' 1441cc street&strip hyabusa,it was a quick race with some yuppie in a red ferarri 550 targa
Not the Fastest ride, but the scariest for certain....A friend picked me up in his 440 Cuda and drove for two and one half blocks as fast as he could get it to go, through two blind intersections and parked cars on both sides...only traffic room for one. I never got in a car with him again. I would estimate about 65 MPH until the road ended in a left hander that spoiled his fun......What a deadly and irresposible ass..Centurion9
The fastest I've ever been was when I hit the porta john this morning and it was 12 degrees...I went in 2.4 seconds. HRP
got a ticket doing 130 on a built kawa zr1 1000. I let up on the throttle when I saw him, he said I was slowing down when he locked on me. Had a el camino with highway gears in the back, it was my first motor build and I wanted to see what it would do, my speedo only went to 80. My buddy had a 280z with built engine and a 150mph speedo install in it. We got out to I-10 heading towards Luling exit and opened them up, his 280z maxed out at 135 and I left him behind. I did 158mph according to a certified GPS across clear lake in a american offshore go-fast boat for a shake down with the engine tuner tweeking the computer.
1987-1991, 150 in my winged 410 sprint car on a 1/2 mile dirt track, local sheriff would set up with radar gun at different place's around track to find the fastest point and come by with your car # and mph, 14.5 seconds works out to about 130 average speed for lap time, Very Comfortable, Huge FUN! Fast Forward to 2001, 160 on local Hwy in a C-5 Vette, SCARY AS HELL, 1x and 1x only! 120 on a motorcycle, 110 on a snowmobile, 75 on water, 90 in a racing Go-Kart. I guess my point is, its not the speed, that's makes you tickle, it's where you achieve it, what you're sitting in or on and most importantly, faster than what's next to you. Now old, Don't go or do anything fast anymore. LOL. John
Hitchhiked to the worlds fair in Seattle from Mi. in '62. I was only 16 and on my way home to finish high school and was picked up by some professor from some college in New York. He was driving some kind of sports car with gull wing doors. (didn't mess with cars then) All I know is it was a 6 cyl stick. We were crossing the top of Montana on US 2 (no speed limit at the time there) He had made the comment that he needed to blow the cobwebs outa this thing. Next thing you know we were doin' 'bout 150. Had some hills to contend with so we slowed down. Finished the trip at about 90. After he dropped me off somewhere in Wisconsin it took about an hour to un- pucker everything.
4.70 @ 150 in the 1/8, as lots of people say "funny thing was" i was on the throttle hard for about 300 ft. And yes I have the time slip somewhere......
a bit over 120 mph in my dads fox body mustang(not HAMB friendly I know) I was 8 that would have been back in 03 I think I was hooked but I'll keep it on the track
Sept 2003 - DaSchaefer had me on the autobahn in Germany going 148 in a non-turbo Porsche 944. We were coming back from the Hot Heads East car club's "Headbanging 2003 drags/show". Man what a blast! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
In 2003 I was an airshow announcer at an airshow held in Lake Cumberland, KY. Paul Stender has his earlier jet powered school bus there and I was fortunate to given a ride in this machine, was then stated to run +300 mph. I was sitting higher in the seat when we stopped, scary but fun!!
I just read that post to my wife... I now have to clean up cheerios scattered across the living room which spewed from her mouth... Thank you for the funny
Fastest on the street for me was somewhere around 100 on my old Triumph flattracker. Went 100 most every weekend when we were kids in our twin engined karts. The police told me once I managed 120 plus in my mom's 63 Tempest GT, but I still don't believe them. The car was that fast, but I wasn't going that fast that night. I did a ton of street racing in high school, was graced by God that I didn't kill someone. I tried to stay within the limits of the brakes of whatever I was driving though, something you learn the hard way driving early 60's go-karts.
I bet you were outrunning the Surface to air missles! Posted using Full box of Crayons on the Kitchen Walls App!
3.67 @ 207 in the 1/8 mile in the pro car (left hand drive door car). The gasser has been 9.33 @ 140 something in the 1/4. The gasser is way cooler even if it way slower.
Just remembered this one. 140 or so on the way back to Ohio from Pittsburgh one night in my cousins '66 XKE roadster. With the top down. I remember that thing being as smooth as glass. Played a gig that night & cuzz offered a ride. Beat the hell out of riding home with the rest of the band in our Grumman bread truck.
Probably 128 mph in 1969 in my friends 67 Plymouth Belevedere with a 426 Hemi on recap tires. Not our brightest moment. He still had throttle left but the car was wandering all over the place so he backed out of it. When that thing was in tune, it was fast but otherwise a pita for a daily driver.
Well ill add to this since its my favorite subject I'll start with my first car 1974 charger the officer informed me I was going 156mph in a 45 and my buddy was going 180 he whooped my ass And then I had a new eclipse v6 and didn't think it could get to the end of the speedo well it proved me wrong 160 and I backed off Then my favorite 2007 viper (not mine) but I took it down a air strip and blew the motor at 220mph the dodge dealer said it wasn't covered by the warranty past 200 oh well not mine there's been many others but those werethe most fun
160 mph for 5 minutes on the autobahn in a rental bmw. 5 minutes is a long time moving at that rate. Too bad it wasn't in a cooler car.
Buddy and I were having coffee in a donut shop when a local cop asked about his 68 mustang. We told him it was fast. He said his cop car would outrun it. It was 3am and there was no traffic so we said lets do it. We shifted into 4th at about 125, the cop car blew his motor at 130. We did not drive thru that town again for a long time- that cop was pissed as his chief was not amused. Built 428/4 speed in a 68 coupe body(GT).
Riding with my dad I was about 9-10yrs old in his corvette. I remember it being around 1am and he had way to much to drink and the speedo saying 121mph. We passed the rest of the family in the minivan and then the amazing arguing between the parents when everyone made it home. He apologized for all the dumb stuff he did over the years when I was around 29yrs old. Good memories. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
