62-67 NOVA help

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hotroddon, Feb 4, 2014.

  1. OK, I need a little help. Someone with an original V8 first gen Nova that doesn't have a frame stub or clip and has Stock Type motor mounts, I need a measurement from the top of the frame rails to the center if the crankshaft.
If you can just lay a straight edge across the frame rails and measure up to the center of the crank bolt (taking into account the thickness of the straight edge) you will help me help a guy out.
    Thanks ;)

PM me if you can help, or post the measurement here. Thanks

I've got 1/4" above the rails at the center of the crank bolt with solid motor mounts (no sag).

May want to compare with others though as there are at least a couple different part numbers for solid mounts and mine may differ slightly in height to the original mounts.

  4. Thanks - hopefully some others will chime in as well.

  5. Very true^^^^^Moroso is one that comes to mind.Different measurements for solid mounts-from the same mfg.

3/8 to the center of the crank hole in the timing cover....big block, mounts I made, using the stock trans crossmember and with the engine at the stock angle.

sounds like 1/4" would be about right for a stock small block.

  7. Anyone else have a stock Small Block car?
