THANKS..... got the carbs out now at WOODRUFF CARB RESTORATIONS hopefully they will get done this week . I feel pretty good about breaking this thing in with a single carb , seems to run well and I also put the throttle at about 3/4 pull till we get used to this thing .
Thanks hotrod60 we took the rambler to its 1st event this weekend kinda sucks we didnt have the tunnel ram on the car but it was a big hit the car is starting to break in some have about 50 miles on it now getting better and better
finally pretty much done ! just some annoying break in concerns , but getting pretty close . these are some pics of our dealerships cruise a little over a week ago . great turnout , about 300 cars . the orange dart beside the rambler is my brothers , I helped him on that one about 18 years ago , took a long time for us to one together , has been well worth it !
The '64 looks AMAZING!! While I was doing research on making my '64 into a gasser I found your thread. Great build!
ok folks its been a while since any rambler updates , my brother and I had a ball all summer and drove the shit out of the rambler . the car worked fairly well , had some break in problems that are pretty much normal (2 failed fuel pumps , new alternator with wrong brushes , 2 ignition modules failed , distributor fail , to name a few) but all in all fairly trouble free . here are some pics from sunset drag strip in Sharon/hermitage area . the owner just happened to be at the property wed. afternoon as I drove by , I was looking to see if I could take shots from the other side of the fence , so I drove in and asked if I could bring the rambler over and take some photos , sure he said - when ? I said now . so home I went and got the rambler - he was so cool to do this . a couple of these may get blown up and go on the wall of the man cave .
Have not been on much lately , been lurking some but have been busy and lots of garage time. Had to post this. We took the rambler to the world of wheels in Pittsburgh pa. And ended up in 2nd place in the gasser class ! We were thrilled , mostly because of the competition , what fun we had , fulfilled one for the bucket list. Great time with my brother and family. Great cars , great event .
Go for it American Motors love that choice. looks to be a fun and cool build cant wait to see some more pics.
